5 RHYTHMS

ThursdaY NIGHTS at 7:30 PM

The 5Rhythms - Flowing Staccato Chaos Lyrical Stillness ® are states of Being. They are a map to everywhere we want to go, on all planes of consciousness - inner and outer, forward and back, physical, emotional and intellectual. These are markers on the way back to a real self, a vulnerable, wild passionate, instinctive self.

This class is offered as introduction and exploration of the Waves Map of the 5Rhythms. We will step into each different Rhythm in every session to built awareness in our bodies of how natural and universal the progression of the journey and how powerful it is to embody this practice

 

BODY OF SOUND

Tuesday nights at 8:00 pm

Body of Sound is an embodiment practice that celebrates the body as our most essential instrument. This journey into rhythm, voice and movement opens the door to freedom and creative expression that lends itself to every aspect of your life. Through structured exercises and improvisation we explore body percussion, chant practices, circle song, moving meditation, music making and much more. As you tune your own instrument, you become attuned to the ensemble around you and your place within it...which is oh so satisfying.

 

QIGONG

mondays at 5:00 pm & WEDNESDAYS at 10:00 am

You will be guided into an accessible but deep exploration into bio-mechanics and energetics that are the fundamentals of Qigong practice. Inspired by the work of Feldenkrais and Taoist masters, we aim to improve the physical movement of the body, by removing underlying resistances and using the light of awareness to unravel habituated movement patterns. Secondly, we learn how to connect back to the life force energy, a potent elixir, that nourishes the breath, mind, and spirit.

This 90-minute class is a combination of sitting, standing and laying down and never the same class twice. Come away from class feeling awakened to your inner and outer beauty, strength and vitality.
